Class Descriptions
Alignment & Form: BEGINNING As the name implies, attention is paid to the basic alignment and form of Yoga . A must for first timers and an excellent re-fresh-er for the seasoned practitioner
Yoga: Postures (Asanas) stretch, tone and strengthen the entire skeletal system, working not only the body’s frame but the internal organs, glands and nerves as well. Breathing exercises (pranayama) refresh and cleanse the body and help to control the mind. The union (yoga) of these two forces (Asana and Pranayama), release physical and mental tension, liberating vast resources of energy with increased mental power, clarity and concentration. This practice over time will bring your being into peak physical and mental condition.
Yoga Flow: Postures are linked via a connective movement (Vinyasa) and powerful breathwork. Enjoy all the benefits of the Yogic practice while moving at a pace that will increase heart rate, heat, and stamina.
Power Yoga*: A sweaty, aerobic form of yoga. Heat is created and sustained throughout the practice via vinyasa, bandha, asana, pranayama and kriya. A real yogic workout both physically and mentally. (Yoga Flow taken to the next level.)
AM Yoga: Designed to wipe the sleep from your eyes and the fog from your brain, this practice will get your day off to an excellent start.
Lunch Hour Yoga: A one Hour complete practice. Restore, revitalize and energize on your lunch break
Yin Yoga/Meditation: A gentle though active practice in which the body is opened and cleansed through Asanas (postures) held as long deep stretches. Once the body is thoroughly calmed, Meditation will be taught using Pranayama (breathwork) and Consciousness Kriya (cleansing) techniques to guide the mind into stillness. All levels welcome.
Kundalini (the Yoga of Awareness): Through Kriya sets, asana, pranayama, mudra, chant and meditation, the meridians (nerve paths) are stimulated to revitalize the glandular and nervous system as well as purify and elevate the ten bodies, the seven chakras and the aura, building a stronger connection to our spiritual selves.
